Thanks for all the help... still searching for the problem though.  I did
have it working a couple of weeks ago.  I worked the 160M CW contest and
used N1MM to key the exchange.  It worked like a charm.  I must have
changed something somewhere but I don't know what that is.

I had two serial ports set up - one for PTT and one for CAT.  I use the COM
5/15 pair and the COM 6/16 pair.  It does key the rig, it's just that there
isn't any carrier.

VAC1 is always on - the only time I turn it off is when I am using VOX.

Still open to suggestions.
