I have ordered one of the Hi-Z single verticals with their premium preamp and voltage injector to see how it works. The vertical is abt 23' so its not very large. We have a 9 array 160m receiving array at NR4M that performs "like buttah" (as Barbra Streisand would say).
It might be a tad weak in the 30-6m region but it cannot be any weakter than my Steppir! 73 Neal Campbell Owner Abroham Neal LLC Work: +1 540 645 5394 Mobile: +1 540 645 8171 On Tue, Apr 23, 2013 at 1:28 PM, Rick McClelland, AA5S <aa5s.r...@gmail.com>wrote: > Greg, I agree one should be careful not to overload the receiver while > transmitting on a nearby antenna but my question is whether the preamp on > these antennas are either unnecessary or degrade system performance when > discerning low level signals with the 6700's receiver. > > On Tue, Apr 23, 2013 at 11:23 AM, Greg <a...@cablespeed.com> wrote: > > > I would connect it to the radio through an RF limiter like the ones > > formerly sold by ICE and now sold by Array Solutions....just to be > > safe. > > > > http://www.arraysolutions.com/Products/as_rxfep.htm > > > > > > BTW....If anyone is interested, I have one of the Clifton Labs > > versions available (without the stinger) for only $50.
