Jon, This is definitely NOT true. Flex stopped selling the FLEX-5000A in June 2013, but will continue to repair & support the FLEX-5000A for the foreseeable future.
Consider that Flex stopped selling the SDR-1000 over 6 years ago (if I recall correctly), but only with the latest version does PowerSDR no longer work with the SDR-1000. However, they still support the SDR-1000 with previous versions of the software. I am certain that it will be the same for the FLEX-5000A. They still have radios in the field with time left on their 2-year warranty, so they have to continue to repair them for at least that period of time.
