I emailed the person listing the Flex 5K. He has talked to Flex and they told him they couldn’t estimate how much to repair until they looked at it. Any electronic gear that has been damaged by an electrical charge may be fixed and still fail again thus most manufacturers will not warranty their work. I don’t know why he stated Flex didn’t support the 5K anymore, he even admitted they did not say that. Evidentially his insurance is replacing the 5K with a 6500.

Subject: [Flexradio] Flex 5000 support

Hi,

I saw this ad on QRZ.

http://forums.qrz.com/showthread.php?403443-Tech-special-flex-radio-systems-flex-5000a

It seems to indicate that Flex will no longer support/repair a 5000.
Is this correct? If so that sure isn't my idea of taking care of
customers.

Jon
