Ron, I believe that the bands are scanned top to bottom and it is just looking for a match for "more than begin" and "less than end". So yes, I think what you are proposed should work.
On the RX Gain, this field is only to adjust the Panadapter and Meter readings so they will be more accurate when you have a device with significant gain/loss inline.
