Wow, good guess.. it was a Piper Arrow III (PA28R-201). As a matter of fact almost all of our club's aircraft have a Garmin 430, some even have two. The club is very good at keeping the aircraft up to date.
The storm scope came in very handy and I would recommend it to anyone who flies IFR during the spring/summer.
