There's also a problem with the NVIDIA drivers on some systems, just generally. For example, if I start with a very small window (say, 320x240x16) and shrink it by a few pixels, that's it for hardware rendering -- we're down to a frame every 30 seconds or so; on the other hand, I can start at 1600x1200x160 and get about 18 fps. I've had that problem for a year and a half, ever since I started using a notebook with a Geforce2Go. I don't have the problem with other 3D programs like the plib demos, only with FlightGear. We must be enabling something that triggers the driver or hardware bug.
