The Beech 99 is a turboprop, which means that YASim is going to
need new code to support it. I'd be happy to write it if someone
decides they want to go that way.

It seems like a reasonable turboprop engine model would be a useful thing for YAsim in the long run anyway. I would probably volunteer myself to do a beech 99 yasim config if you added support for turboprop engines.
