In the long term I hope the FlightGear project will adopt git as a replacement for CVS. However, for now I think it would be best to include the diffs from your patches in these emails rather than pointing folks to your git repo. That will increase the chances of developers -- who might not yet be so keen on git -- looking at the patches and committing them, and give those of us who are using git too the option of applying your patches directly instead of fetching your sport model branch.
