You may want to try posting your problem to our mailing list. I am running
fedora here so I don't have a lot of recent debian experience with
FlightGear.
Debian does shared libs for everything, but plib and simgear are C++ code so
I don't recommend them to be compiled in shared lib format. You might be
better off downloading the code directly from the FlightGear/SimGear/plib
web site and building stock/native versions, rather than the debian patched
version.
