I'm stuck up an Alp until Monday, but the AB is likely just the autopilot Xml entry being accidently removed - I shall check upon my return to reality.
As for the GPS, please do ask if things seem strange, I'm happy to make code changes, or document things better. The departure waypoint exists so there is 'always' a previous waypoint - it should never normally be the active waypoint, though likely this is possible in some edge cases of deleting waypoints.
