2 months is long enough for the new files to have bedded in :)

Unless there are major objections, I'll merge the changes that have been made
subsequently to data/materials.xml and data/materials-dds.xml into the
 data/Materials/[default|dds]/materials.xml files and retired the old
files tomorrow
evening GMT.
