Hi all,

I am trying to get flightgear (from current CVS) up and running on a self compiled Linux System (set up mostly after Linux from Scratch 6.1, but using kernel 2.6.11.12) using an Athlon Mobile CPU and a ATI Radeon 8550 based video card running the ATI propietary fglrx 6.8.0 OpenGL driver under Xorg 6.8.2.

Everything compiled ok, but I am not able to get the program past the startup sequence. It always fails with the message:

freeglut (./fgfs): Failed to create cursor

As yet I merely skimmed freeglut 2.4.0 documentation from which I now understand that cursor creation seems not be implemented in freeglut yet. Thus my questions:

Is this behaviour known to anybody?
Is there an easy way to overcome the problem?
If not, where to get (and how to compile) another Glut 3.7 compatible library?

Looking forward to your answers,
Bernd
