What would be the best whay to build a fence around an airport?

Intuatively, I would start by building a 3-D model of a segment of fence then placing multiple instances around the airport. I can see several issues this might cause.

1) Unless there is a way to stretch the object ( and this would cause distortions in say a wire-mesh fence), the fence segment would have to have a managable length. eg 10m or less.

2) Multiple instances of even a 10m length of fence along the one side of even a short (2000m) runway would mean 200 instances were being loaded. This may cause an unacceptable load on graphics processing.

3) Placing about 1000 instances for the entire perimeter of a short (2000m) runway would be VERY time consuming.

I have thought about what would be worth placing in the scenery and what's not. Obviously, Placing vehicles on a road 9Nm away from a airport would not be worth while. Placing LLZ antennae, wind socks and control towers close to the runway are worth while. ie The closer to the runway an object is the smaller the size that is worth while, the further away the larger the object would have to be to be worth while.
