I see that Pigeon's multiplayer server page uses the aircraft model name to display along with the icon, username, altitude and ground speed. In order for any 3D aircraft model to be "multiplayer ready" the model name should be short and meaningful. I know that modelers were not thinking about multiplayer when they made the models, so some of the names don't fit well.
Could we have an alternate system of picking a name? May a <name> tag somewhere in the XML wrapper for the model? This way I could give my 737 a <name> of "737", while the model itself still uses the "boeing733" name.
