Hi All,
Meant to get this done about a week ago, but things
have been a tad busy. I've just been through all the
E-mails regarding benchmarking of FGFS running on
specific hardware, and here's what I've come up with.
It could be made waaay more complex than this, but I
believe that for the moment we should leave it as is.
However, like the PCMark, and 3DMark generalised
benchmarks, maybe we can discuss changing things after
a year or so, based on experience of this one?
Frames/Second + Hardware Survey - December 2005
Resolution: 800x600x16
Time: 1500 (is the position of the Sun accurately
mapped, or can we get away
with time only?)
Aircraft: C172
Altitude: 2000'
Speed: 80 Knots
Heading: 090
Location: Overhead KSFO
3D Clouds: Off
Misc: No Carrier scenario, no multiplayer
Environment: Comments section for applications also
running
on same hardware, etc. Will be
entered
verbatim at the end of the
spreadsheet line.
Information required:
Frames/second
CPU type and speed
main RAM
Graphics hardware (including graphics RAM if known)
Operating system
FG version
FG runs or not?
The idea is that you'll be headed east, so your view
will not be of the sea, but there will be land moving
infront of you. Why 1500? Well, if its noon (as one
person suggested) there won't be much in the way of
shadows.
So, barring any huge objections, please let the
submission of Frames/Second and hardware compatibility
roll in!
