I fought and fought and fought with YAST to downgrade to freeglut 2.2 on OpenSuse 10.0. Even after compiling it by hand (and YAST identified 2.2 as being installed) fgfs still raised this error. However, configuring fgfs with --enable-sdl took care of the problem. Now it appears that plib is not quite right for Atlas on Suse. Sigh, the ironic thing is that I had no problems at all installing fgfs on previous Suse versions. Long live Linux!
