Complain to SuSE. Like some other distributions they seem to have decided
to compile plib as dynamic library, which is *explicitly* not supported
and discouraged by the plib project, nor recommended by the FlightGear
project. It's entirely SuSE entertainment. Enjoy it!   :-}

PS: I use SuSE, too. Always have (after a short test of Slackware many
    years ago). And I don't like what Novell makes out of it. But I
    compile plib/sg/fgfs/atlas/sdl/openal/whatnot from original source.

PPS: I compile with LDFLAGS="-g -Wl,--as-needed", so that FlightGear
     isn't liked against glut (although I use SDL) and other nonsense.
