Syd -

Finally got my hands on the pilots guide for the KNS80. I understand
what you are saying except for the comment concerning radial setting in
the nav radio not setting the course needle. I would expect that
selecting the "use" button would change the slaved PNI (HSI) course
indication. Since Im not a licensed pilot I defer to others who have
hands-on experience with this radio. Do I misunderstand?

Guide also indicates that "use" button only uses whats selected with the
"dsp" button. In my last flight I think I was able to cycle thru the
stored waypoints by just hitting the "use" button & the selected point
was used, irregardless of what was chosen to be displayed.

It would seen to me that setting the distance value to zero when
navigating along a victor airway would cause the KNS80 to behave in the
classical VOR nav sense making the "VOR" button redundant. Not sure why
the radio has this button.

After this project is completed, almost have all thats needed for a GPS
receiver :-)
