I agree also -- when I said that geo-referencing an image (or the 
equivalent for non-geo imagery) was not FC's job, I meant that it isn't 
FC's job to figure out what the transform should be. But it is FC's job 
to apply whatever transforms the user needs. Indeed one of the key 
features driving the need for a refactor was the need to apply arbitrary 
transforms.

agreed -- a like the idea of a library of assorted useful stuff -- 
certainly transforms, and maybe even add-ons that help you reference 
imagery, but they should be seen as add-ons, not part of the core library.
