Hello Matthias,

Thanks for the explanation and suggestions. The idea of using a game 
engine hadn't occurred to me yet - it's for certain something to check 
out (although I'm not too keen on rebuilding all the goodies that 
navCanvas already provides ;) )

I'll try to experiment a bit with removing the observables to see 
differences.
