All,
I am a network engineer recently tasked with calculating strategic
growth metrics utilizing data collected from netflow exports. We are
currently using flow-tools as our default netflow v5 collector. I need to
programmatically parse the files flow-tools generates and run my
calculations on the flow records stored within them (the stock toolset
does most of what I need but not quite everything). I can do this with
the exports available through flow-export (ASCII, cflowd, etc) but most
of these formats produce files much larger than I would like (I will have
to send the netflow data across many, many WAN links for central
processing). I have searched high and low for some kind of documentation
describing the format of the files flow-tools creates. Any help anyone
can offer would be greatly appreciated.
