No one learns without asking... That said, I guess the book is probably aimed more at teaching C++ rather than teaching the MS VC IDE, so it may help to google about for MS VC specific guides too, in case there's useful stuff. For example, Greg's videos have a very robust reputation, and I think you were already pointed at them.
