Good point Colin. I think we can express the distinction in the
handbook in a way that clarifies the use of the different techniques and
puts them in the proper perspective.

One minor clarification: there are actually two different types of
accessibility walkthroughs. The simple protocol is designed for

The comprehensive protocol requires an under-the-covers review of
markup and the use of assistive technologies and other tools to
verify. Not necessarily intended for all users, but very detailed.
We'll probably want to distinguish between the two and how they should
be used. Since we don't want accessibility walkthroughs to be
forgotten, we may want to highlight the simple protocol and suggest
that they be done as part of the wholistic walkthrough process.
