Hello Jean-Franois, The message you are seeing is actually
informational only and unfortunately uses a calculated value for the 1/f. The “true”
value, the official one you quoted, is what is used internally. Long ago we
(I) thought it would be a good idea to log the OGC well known text for every
coordinate system – we derive this Well Known Text (WKT) from our
internal definitions). Unfortunately, the flattening gets computed and numeric
round off ends up showing it as the incorrect value you have noticed. We’ve recently fixed this so that
even the WKT will show the correct flattening. So if you get a new beta from our site (we’re
at around build 1644 or so now) this problem will be gone. But again, it was
only a cosmetic problem, internally the correct values were being used when
coordinate transformations were being done. Dale From:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi group, I'm constated in my log file that the Datum WGS84 has the
value 1/f=298.257222932867. The official value (NIMA 8250.2) is
298.257223563. This problem has already reported (see message 9842, Dec 3,
2004). I have this message in build 1537 but also in recent build 2005-03-03 (I
don't remember the build number). Why? Can I Edit the predetermined Ellipsods
and Datums? Thank you Jean-Franois Beaudry Technicien en gomatique Hydro-Qubec Gomatique, relevs techniques et gestion des donnes Direction - Environnement et services techniques Direction principale - Expertise Place Dupuis 9e
