In regard to your query I would also like to know how fast it will run
as I did this with a client but found the connectivity was really too slow.
I set up filemaker remote to access his server from my office so I could
remove the necessity of travel. Unfortunately it was so slow to use I
eventually opted for a VNC connection which was much faster and more
realistic to use. I believe the line connection was fast enough to
operate efficiently as the VNC connection is fine, its just that trying
to use filemaker's remote option slowed it all down too much to really
be workable. In your case a VNC option is not an option as you need to
have the use of a computer at the other end.
So if someone out there has a better plan to set it up then I'd like to
know too. i found that IWP will work much faster, but it does have
limitations in access compared to using normal filemaker.
I'm running 8.5 on Leopard and PC as I use and test both systems in my
office.
