Using Export Field Contents produces a Unicode file Emma: those 2 characters are the Unicode byte-order-marker (BOM). Non-Unicode text files are produced using the standard Export commmand, using a file- management plug-in (eg, Troi File), or using shell scripting or AppleScript.
