You need to treat the whole thing as a concatenated text string:

gFromDate & "..." & gThruDate

I am trying to set a range of dates for a Find, in a script which runs a report.. It uses values from a table containing various globals, related by key (an “X”) to the table the report is based on.

Set Field [Donation::DateReceived], Donation_HoldVariables::gFromDate...Donation_HoldVariables::gThruDate

I get “The specified field cannot be found”.

If I try GetAsDate (Donation_HoldVariables ::gFromDate)...GetasDate(Donation_HoldVariables::gThruDate)

I Get “This number cannot be evaluated”.

gThruDate and gFromDate are Date data types, global. They are populated by a layout that does nothing but get the date values (or another value if user wants report that way: that doesn’t work either, but it just doesn’t do the Find!).

Whole script:
Go to Layout [ “DonationDetailReport” (Donation) ]
Show All Records
Enter Find Mode [ ]
[ Pause ]
Set Field [ Donation::DateReceived ]
Perform Find [ ]
Sort Records [ Specified Sort Order: Donation::Campaign; ascending
Donation_PersonInHousehold::LastName; ascending
Donation_PersonInHousehold::FirstName; ascending ]
[ Restore; No dialog ]
Enter Preview Mode
[ Pause ]
Enter Browse Mode
Go to Layout [ original layout ]
