Beverly - yes, I already got those - and it's a non-trivial task to understand and make use of them!
There IS a POI Loader for the MAC. That's what you use to take your CSV text file and let the application do it's thing for "import" into the Garmin.
I hadn't dowloaded that so far as what I want to do (at present) is move stuff from the Garmin to the Mac. At some stage I will want to move stuff in the opposite direction, but entire flight plans, not just points of interest.
Another correspondent recommended MacGPSpro. It seems attractive, but does not offer a download of a trial version, and apparently only works with a Keyspan USB-serial adaptor that is not shipped outside USA (no doubt a homeland security requirement). I will also investigte GPSy as they do offer a trial version and I intend to see if that will work with a locally-available USB-serial cable.
