All,

There is a new URL-shortening service (a service to make long URLs smaller, like for use on Twitter, etc) for FileMaker enthusiasts.

The Web page:

http://fmp.fm/

(catchy, huh? FileMaker, Inc. can be found at http://fmp.fm/fm)

COMING SOON:

--Bookmarklets: links anyone can drag to their browser toolbars to automatically shorten URLs (or to create custom ones)

--API: Like if you put this into a Web Viewer in FileMaker:

http://fmp.fm/yourls-api.php?username=xxxxxxx&password=yyyyyyy&action=shorturl&url=http://www.target.com&output=simple

It would automatically go to fmp.fm, shorten the sent URL (in this case http://www.target.com) and return the shortened version (in this case http://fmp.fm/20). Then you could scrape that out of a Web Viewer, etc etc.

--Click tracking and other HootSuite-type ornaments. First, The Forum, then Rome. :)

I hope you find this useful.

This is a labor of love. If anyone wants to help he work on it, give me a shout.

Sincerely,

Chris Kubica
