Richard, IPv6 has nothing to do with the file format .fp7, and it is not to expect that the file format will be changed in the foreseeable future as it is so flexible as to be capable to handle all future additions.
Chuck, That "litany" is for tech people, and it offers solutions and work arounds for almost all cases, including IPv6 as to use a name server instead of a hard coded IPv6 address. I recommend to read the technical specifications for FileMaker Server which allows up to 250 simultaneous connections. The number of databases seems to be limited only by available memory (50 should be OK).
