Sue,

FileMaker puts up the scroll bar only when it thinks it needs it... What I mean is that if you have a few records, the arrow key/ cursor will blink as the script processes. IF there are more records, you see the blinking dot. At some threshold, it changes over to the status bar. On the projects I'm working on in 11 it only seems to show up when there are more then 300 or 400 records to process. Usually I see the blinking dot first then it changes to the bar.

I have seen some techniques for making your own scroll bar. I haven't got a link handy, but a search at some of the filemaker sites may lead you to some that you could implement.

Hope this helps

In FM 10, when I was doing a relookup or replace action that covered many records, I would see a status report window with a bar that continuously showed me how many records had been processed and how many remained.

In FM 11, all I get is a command symbol with a blinking dot.

Is there any way to change a preference or something somewhere to get the status bar showing again. It is frustrating to not know if I need to wait 2 minutes or 20 for the process to be done, or to be sure anything is actually happening.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Sue
