Yes, you hit the nail on the head, my clients do use point of sale
software as part of their business with a touch screen and keystrokes.
They use my solution for another purpose but have asked could my system
replace their other software hence the reason for seeing if filemaker
could be modified. The only response I've had for touch screen work and
filemaker is that its too slow.

I use Filemaker mainly for accounting and data capture, and would think that
being able to use the function keys (F1 through F12) on the standard
keyboard, to perform repetitive processes (enter find mode, add new record,
duplicate record, show all records etc) would be very welcome.

I'd be curious to watch that program in action. I can't imagine a function
that it can do without a mouse that Filemaker won't. But then again, I
haven't yet seen everything.

I guess it just means can you activate scripts from a keyboard instead
of using the mouse to click on buttons.
They're using FM 8.5v2
Of course, you can set up the buttons so they're in the tab sequence,
then tab to them and use the return key to activate them.
It might help if we knew WHY they want to avoid the mouse.
