Somehow most of the people you talk to about restricted shells, will revive memories of their univ days. At our univ, we had restricted shells that were very poorly made and breaking out of these was usually the norm. :)) In our case pine was enabled and using vim as an alternative editor you could bang out to /bin/bash in a jiffy... :)) Regards Dhar
