Dear All,

Jordan Transparency Center, along with its volunteers and counterparts have
been revising the ATI a few months ago. JTC has recently and successfully
managed to form a national consortium for legislative reforms. The Consortium
is composed of 27 CSOs and 23 activists from Law and Media firms.

In today's meeting, the members of the Consortium discussed the amendments
proposed by the government to the parliament for discussion and endorsement.
These minor amendments are insufficient and inadequate.

The legal committee of the Consortium met seven times over the past few months,
and came up with a recommendation that is to revert the law to the prime
ministry.

The Coalition has approached the Parliament and requested for a meeting with
the concerned committees to discuss with them the needs for the change of the
law. The Consortium will also meet the national steering committee, royal
committee for the NIS, private sector, political parties, anti corruption
entities and media to get their support and push for this change.

Will keep you updated.

Best,
Hilda
