There is a project going on to create a simple and powerful build system,
based on Ant and Cocoon: Krysalis Centipede (krysalis.org).
Centipede is used by Forrest at xml.apache and Jakarta POI.
Right now I'm in the process of committing the latest Centipede to the POI
project, and it's a major redesign, based on the massive feedback from these
projects.
I offer to help you with an eventual use of Centipede, as I'm doing with the
other projects.
Since I understood that you are ok with using Cocoon with the possibility of
migrating to Forrest, this is the easiest path.
If not, I would have to strip the Cocoon Centipede uses, but I wouldn't
recommend it since an overhaul seems auspicable.
I will make a release of the new Centipede this week, after the POI project
tests out the remaining bugs.
After that, I'm ready to help you roll :-)
