You can't send control sequences to the printer, particularly made difficult because &x1B (ESC) is not a valid XML character.
The question is: why do you think you have to send control codes to the printer? After all, FOP is supposed to format the content for you and send it in a way to the printer which should cause it to print your stuff correctly.
Well, it is not enough. I want to send codes like 'print diacritic code', 'change feeder', 'change page orientation' e.t.c. My printer (customer's printer) has very extended interface and I have to use it. Do you have any idea?
