The text-align-last value is only applied to the last line in a block, and not to lines terminated by preserved NL characters (the LS stuff isn't in the spec anyway). This is non-conformant and a known problem. A workaround is to replace the NL characters by <fo:block/> or otherwise eliminate them. This wont be fixed until the redesigned code is out.

Thank you for your answer, I've now created a replace template to put the fo:block in the text on places where I would want a newline. And that works indeed.
About the redesigned code, is there a place where I can follow the progress on this point?
