I have a similar (the same?) problem. I used Textpad 4.73 before I switched to PSPad. In both I use the same fixedsys font, but with PSPad there is at least one pixel more space between the letters making the text hard to read.
I also noticed that with Courier New in PSPad the red underline of the spellchecker fits exactly the length of the underlined word. But with fixedsys the word is longer than the red line below it... is that a hint? There seems to be something wrong with that font. Perhaps we use different versions that produce this strange problem? However, as long as this isnt fixed I tend to continue using TextPad. Btw... When I move the cursor into a line and the spellchecking is enabled the red underlines disappear and keep disappeared until I deactivate and activate it again.
