Actually I believe that PADS could be just slightly more useful for
microwave design then Protel. If only for one feature, you can make a copper
pattern part with only one pad but any shape you can draw with polygons or
fills. This would be useful for at least repetitive microwave structure
reuse. With Protel you may do this as well but I feel that PADS is just a
little better at it with less fuss. To do this one would use the PADS
associate copper to a pad in the footprint design tool.
