Not sure if a server for slotted holes is necessary.
One technique which I have been using is to create the slot on the
mechanical 1 layer along with the board outline. We have several board form
factors which have a 340 mil long x 80 mil wide slot centered over a 125 mil
unplated hole. I have simply created the whole outline using tracks and
arcs. For those of you doing 3D modeling with the Solidworks I/F, you
already know that this is the only way the slots show up correctly in the
model. If you want it plated, just place a multilayer pad(s) over the route
to cover, but use a 0mil hole.
I haven't had any complaints from the board house yet.

Do I hear a request for a Protel ClientBasic script for generating slotted
holes?

Script to date:
    Spiral generator,
    Inductor generator,
    Smooth size trace transition generator,
Picture - Gerber generator with half-tones (still in QBasic only,
looking into transferring & improving).
