I agree with all the recent comments... Library..I am a footprint pack rat.
I move between many machines and seem to generate library entries on all of
them. Some way to collect and group entries would be very helpful here.
The .ddb is nice but I miss seeing the date stamp on lib files from
explorer.
On generating CAM files. How many times have we opened Protel to look at a
quick schematic and discovered that it is auto loading the biggest design
you have ever worked on and can't be interrupted. Worse yet in the middle
of that job is a CAM output that crashes the load process, probably due to
resource issues. So you are stuck...can't kill the CAM because autoload
never finishes.
Wish item. Have a command line switch option like "Client99SE.exe /x" where
the x tells Protel to open without loading any previous designs. I have
heard through this list that tweaking some .ini file would accomplish the
same thing but I can't setup a "Bare Protel" link with this approach.
