I am now also wondering whether we will ever see SP7 for Protel 99 SE. But
Protel have indicated that another major version will be released "some time
this year", so this is reasonably likely to still occur, regardless of
whether SP7 is also released or otherwise.

I gather that SP1 for P-CAD 2001 was released at some stage during June
(just past). Perhaps Protel had been concentrating on releasing that up
until relatively recent times, and at this stage they may have changed their
attention to Protel instead.

I have spent a bit of time looking at the documentation for P-CAD 2001.
Although there are differences between that and Protel, I still wouldn't
totally dismiss the possibility that these products will be merged in the
future, or failing that, increasingly converge in their natures...

Regards,
Geoff Harland.
