Can you give more explanation of the problem?

I cloned the repository (the one on 8080) and I see that it contains 2
closed leaves and 14 open leaves. I looked at all 5400 artifacts, and I see
only 3 attempts to close leaves - two of which close the two closed leaves,
and one that refers to a check-in that has no parents or children. (In the
current implementation Check-ins without either parents or children are not
considered to be leaves. You can argue that this is a bug, but on the other
hand, the situation does not normally arise.)

Are you saying that you closed more leaves than this but that the close-leaf
artifacts are disappearing from the repository?
