There's a completely unrelated package named "chromium" in some
debian/derivative repositories. The browser's package is called
chromium-browser, as is the binary:

[stephan@host:~]$ which chromium
[stephan@host:~]$ which chromium-browser
/usr/bin/chromium-browser

For Chromium (browser), try:
