first I am loggin in on the fox board via ssh.

Yes, then I try to do that on the console.

there is gpg 1.4.2 already on the foxboard,

but when I try to use this, then the gpg process on the foxboard just
stops after telling me the following:

waiting for any more actions were pointless,
I had to use crtl+c. i.e. gpg 1.4.2 did not terminate.

afterwards I crosscompiled gpg 1.4.7
and put that on the fox.

but when I tried to use that version of gpg
he was not able to open /dev/tty and terminates.

I tried to use your advice and logged in via telnet, but unfortunately
that doesn't change anything.
