Hi Andreas, I am also new to the group and have had a similiar issue with re-flashing then the board stopped responding!
I jumped the pin8 as described on the ACMESYSTEMS website and was able to connect via ethernet. I then used the command line utility to reflash the board. I had to flash the board twice for some reason then it was back online. Another thing you might check is the power supply to the board! I needs to be stable at 5VDC! Another possibility was I used two computers and one was running two network cards and changed to another which only had one and it seemed to work! I do not know if this had any issue but just sharing my experience.
