We have had PI installed since 98. The interface runs on a AW51B
running 4.3, and the PI server runs on Windows NT Server 4.0 At times I have had
some problems getting the interface up and running, but I have never had it (the
Interface) fail once it was up. I Did have problems with the server version
3.2.332 where sometimes the PI Archive subsystem service would fail to restart after
its nightly backup, but server version 3.2.357.17 seems to have fixed this. I
also am having problems getting the PI system to write Boolean and integer values back
to the I/A. I can get the reals to work great, but Integers work sort of, and
Booleans not at all.

Folks
Have any of you that use PI had problems keeping it running for long
periods
of time, with out PI shutting itself down?
We have had PI now for over two years and it frequently shuts itself
down.
No messages in pimesslogfile or in the sever message logs to point
out why.
When OSI tech support is contacted the very first thing out of them
is that
we have done something on the I/A system to cause the problem..
i.e.
upgrades, added software etc. The first contacts always include a
fair
amount of time convincing OSI we have not installed any new I/A
software.
Anyone ran into problems with PI that repeat themselves? Of recent
days the
iorates program was failing. The problem went away for now as quickly
as it
occur.
