I think this may be solved already in the latest Lazarus version: "Single Instruction step (over/into)" (http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Lazarus_0.9.30_release_notes). What Lazarus version are you using? If it is not RC of 0.9.30, then you should try using it. You can find it at: http://www.hu.freepascal.org/lazarus/ and it is called "Lazarus-0.9.29-*".
