If you open a MIF snippet to be able to import formats from it, all variables which are not defined in the MIF snippet are populatead with the default values. That's why I never used it to import formats from it. However, if you do import formats, it seems that these default values are _not_ imported although they are there. Strange. If you import the MIF snippet as a file, then you can import it only into a single file. Of course you can then import variables into all other files of the book. However, this is not what the poster wanted. I would make a book with all the files (from all the folders and subfolders) and use one of the plugin to import a single variable.
